The Virginia Abrasives 14-inch Basic Diamond is VA’s entry-tier 14-inch blade and the lowest-priced one in VA’s Amazon lineup, at $54.99. VA builds it with sintered segments and a basic diamond concentration, and sells it on affordability.
What the specifications say
Part number 425-06026. Fourteen inches by .125 inch, on a 1-inch arbor with a 20mm bushing. Twelve millimetre segments, medium bond, wet or dry, rated to 5,460 RPM. The segments are sintered, according to both VA’s website and VA’s Amazon comparison chart. VA lists the blade as general purpose and calls out granite and river-rock aggregates specifically. That is worth flagging, because hard aggregate is what defeats a lot of general-purpose blades.
Where it falls in VA’s lineup
VA puts it at the bottom of its 14-inch lineup and says why. VA’s website calls the BD “the stalwart of the Rental Market” and credits its affordability, with a basic diamond concentration on sintered segments. VA’s Amazon comparison chart puts the Ultra Value one step up, with laser-welded segments designed to last longer for professional users.
The listings add the rest. The Basic Diamond is cheaper than the Ultra Value. It carries the same 12mm segments. It has the highest rating count of any VA 14-inch blade on Amazon, at 4.6 stars across 12 ratings, which is a thin base for any blade but the best available in this range. Its RPM ceiling is 40 RPM lower than the standard 5,500, and that still clears every saw we cover.

Who should buy it
Rental fleets, and contractors who cut cured concrete and block now and then and put blade price ahead of blade life. The granite and river-rock rating makes it worth a look in regions where hard aggregate shortens blade life on ordinary general-purpose blades. For daily cutting, VA’s own positioning points to the laser-welded Ultra Value.

Is 5,460 RPM enough for my saw? ▼
Yes for every saw on this site. The fastest spindle we cover is the Husqvarna K 770 and K 970 at 5,400 RPM, then the Milwaukee COS350 at 5,370 and the Stihl TS 420 at 5,350. All are below 5,460. The margin is thinner than the usual 5,500-rated blade, so read your saw's nameplate rather than assuming, and never mount a blade rated below your spindle speed.
Can I cut asphalt or green concrete with it? ▼
No. This is a medium bond built for cured concrete. Asphalt and green concrete are soft and abrasive, and they wear a medium bond away quickly. Those substrates need a hard bond, which is what the BD Asphalt / Green Concrete blade is for.
Does it handle rebar? ▼
